A presentation carries two kinds of words: the ones on the slides and the ones the presenter says. They are stored in different parts of the file, so a deck can look polished and still hand back an empty notes pane under every slide — and for anyone who has to stand up and deliver it, that gap is the difference between a draft and something usable. Our free AI-powered speaker notes generator closes it. Upload a PPT, PPTX, or ODP file and the app reads the whole deck — slide titles, body text and tables — then writes a short paragraph for every slide that the presenter can read aloud. The notes explain what the slide shows, add the context behind it, and lead into the next one, so together they sound like one prepared talk rather than a list of captions.

Supported Formats

PPT

PPT is the original file format used by Microsoft PowerPoint up until PowerPoint 2003. While not as feature-rich as its successor, PPT remains a widely recognized format and is supported by most presentation software.

PPTX

PPTX is the newer, XML-based file format introduced in PowerPoint 2007. This format offers better file compression, making it more efficient and often resulting in smaller file sizes. This format has become the standard for PowerPoint presentations today, and it is the format the presentation with speaker notes or with the AI voice-over is returned in.

ODP

ODP is the presentation format for the OpenDocument format, commonly used by open-source office applications like Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

MP4

MP4 is the most widely supported video format: it plays in every browser, on phones and smart TVs, and can be uploaded to YouTube, social networks and learning platforms. The narrated video is returned as an MP4 with the slides in HD and the AI voice-over as its soundtrack.

MD

Markdown is a lightweight plain-text format for structured writing. The notes document lists the speaker notes under a heading for every slide, so it reads well in any Markdown viewer and can be dropped straight into a wiki or a shared document.

TXT

Plain text is the most universal format: no formatting, just the notes of every slide in order. It opens anywhere, prints cleanly and is easy to paste into an email, a chat or a teleprompter.

What are speaker notes and why do I need them?
Speaker notes are the words the presenter says while a slide is on the screen. They live in a separate part of the file — the notes pane under every slide — which your audience never sees. A deck can look finished and still have an empty notes pane under each slide, and anyone who has to stand up and deliver it is left to improvise. Our app fills that gap.
Is your app free?
You can use our app for free with a limit of 3 presentations per day; on the free plan, the presentations you get back carry a small aspose.ai watermark in the corner of the slides. For more flexibility, our paid plan removes the daily limit and the watermark.
What is the per-day limit?
The daily limit resets 24 hours after your first use, not at midnight. This means your usage is based on a rolling 24-hour window rather than the calendar date.
What formats does your speaker notes generator support?
The app reads PowerPoint presentation formats, including PPT, PPTX, and ODP. The result is a PPTX presentation with the notes placed under every slide, a narrated PPTX slideshow with an AI voice-over, a narrated MP4 video, or a separate notes document in Markdown (.md) or plain text (.txt).
Which output format should I choose?
Choose "Add to slide notes" if you are going to present from PowerPoint yourself: the notes appear in Presenter View on your screen while the audience sees only the slides. Choose "Add voice-over" if the presentation has to speak for itself — for a kiosk, an online course, a recorded briefing or anyone who will watch it on their own. Choose "Download as video" if the audience will not open PowerPoint at all: the narrated slides come as an MP4 that plays in any browser or media player and can be uploaded to YouTube, an LMS or a chat. Choose "Download as MD" or "Download as TXT" if you want a script to print, rehearse from, share with a colleague, or paste into a teleprompter — the notes are listed slide by slide with their slide numbers.
What is the AI voice-over option?
It turns your deck into a narrated presentation. The speaker notes of every slide are read aloud by a natural-sounding AI voice, and the speech is embedded right into the PPTX file. When the slide is shown, the narration starts automatically, and as soon as it ends the next slide appears — no microphone, no recording session and no manual timings needed.
How do I play the narrated presentation?
Open the downloaded PPTX in PowerPoint and start the slideshow with F5 (Slide Show > From Beginning). Every slide speaks its notes and moves on by itself; you can still click or press the arrow keys to skip ahead, and Esc stops the show.
What is the narrated video option?
It turns your deck into a self-narrated MP4 video. The speaker notes of every slide are read aloud by the AI voice while the slide is on the screen: each slide opens with a second of silence, then the narration plays, and two more seconds of silence give the viewer a moment before the next slide. Slides without notes are shown for a few seconds in silence. No PowerPoint, screen recorder or video editor is needed to watch or share the result.
Which languages does the voice-over speak?
The notes are voiced in the language of the presentation, both in the narrated slideshow and in the video. The AI voice-over currently speaks 15 languages: English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, Indonesian, German, Turkish, Vietnamese, Korean, Italian and Polish.
What happens to the animations in my slides with the voice-over?
In the narrated slideshow they are kept and play by themselves: on-click animations start automatically one after another, and the narration begins once the slide has been built. The slide waits until both the animations and the speech are over before moving on, so nothing is cut off. The narrated video shows every slide in its final, fully built state while its notes are read aloud.
Will my slides be changed?
No. Only the notes pane is filled — the slides themselves, their design, layout, text, images, charts and tables stay exactly as they were. With the voice-over, every slide additionally gets a hidden audio clip and an automatic timing, and its animations no longer wait for a click. On the free plan, the slides also get a small aspose.ai watermark in the top right corner — in the video as well. If you choose a video, a Markdown or a text file, the presentation you uploaded is not changed at all.
What happens to the notes that are already in my presentation?
They are replaced. When you choose "Add to slide notes" or "Add voice-over", the notes pane of every slide receives the newly generated notes. If you want to keep your original notes, choose "Download as MD" or "Download as TXT" instead — your presentation is then left unchanged.
Does the app just read the slide text back?
No. Each note is a short spoken paragraph of about 40 to 90 words that explains the slide, gives the context behind it and, where it helps, leads into the next slide. The whole deck is processed at once, so the notes connect into one continuous talk instead of a set of unrelated comments.
Can the notes contain facts that are not in my slides?
No. The notes are based strictly on the content of the uploaded presentation — no invented figures, dates or claims. If something is not on the slides, the presenter will not be asked to say it.
In which language are the notes written?
In the language of the presentation itself. A deck written in Spanish gets speaker notes in Spanish, ready to be read aloud to the same audience the slides were made for.
How long does it take to generate speaker notes?
It depends on the size of the deck, but it is generally quick — the notes for a typical presentation are ready within a minute. The voice-over takes a little longer, as every slide is voiced as well, and the video a little longer still, as the slides are rendered and encoded into it.
Is my uploaded presentation stored on your servers?
No, we prioritize your privacy and security. We do not store any uploaded presentations. Once the speaker notes are generated and the result is returned, the files are deleted from our system.
